An alternative to the conventional coffee

Cafés Batalla presents his Organic and Fairtrade Coffee, toasted, natural without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. Coffee coming from the country organizations bought on a fair price to guarantee their social, economic and environmental development.

Cafés Batalla collaborates on this project with the commitment of maintaining the best coffee and help country organizations as an Importer and Manufacturer of Fairtrade Coffee authorized by FLO and the Spanish Fairtrade Products Association.

Fairtrade

Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, that seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing their rights of, disadvantage producers and workers – especially in the South. Fair Trade organizations (backed by consumers) are actively engaged in supporting for changes in the rules and practices of conventional international trade.

Fair trade’ strategic intent is:

  • Deliberately to work with marginalized producers and workers in order to help them move from a position of vulnerability to security and economic self-sufficiency.
  • To empower producers an workers as stakeholders in their won organizations;
  • Actively to play a wider role in the global arena to achieve greater equity in international trade

The International Fairtrade Certification Mark  guarantees a very rigorous process of certifying products as complying with international Fairtrade standards set by FLO. The Fairtrade Mark is only awarded to products and does not make any statement about companies or organizations selling them.

 

 

The ecological production

The ecological production agrarian, also denominated biological or organic, is a production system and natural agrarian product elaboration. The primary target is the food obtaining of maxima quality
The techniques used in the ecological agrarian production are:

  • respectful with environment
  • respectful with the people

They restrict the chemical agent use of synthesis. Therefore the ecological agrarian products do not contain remainders of these substances

bThe certification is necessary to guarantee that the ecological production system of foods arrives at the consumer with the maximum guarantees. By this the Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica (CCPAE) makes exhaustive controls to the operators by means of auditors of production systems and elaboration, and takes samples from products to be analyzed. Of this form it guarantees that these products have not been contaminated with chemical agent.
